Known to locals as the Saiki Mansion (built in 1932 and named after its original owner) our fully restored home has a baronial ambiance that befits an "aloha" experience. A rich blend of redwood and cedar line the 30-foot vaulted living room ceiling, walls, double staircases and wraparound balcony. The Japanese Tea Room is elegant in cherry wood. Antique furnishings made of koa (a precious wood native to Hawaii) as well as mahogany and oak, add to the luxury of silk paintings and tapestries. You can enjoy TV in the family room or the stereo in the great room. The koi ponds or botanical gardens with fragrant flowers and colorful plants can be enjoyed from our front or rear lanais. And across the street, a beach park offers swimming and snorkeling.
Accommodations Our guest bedrooms have semiprivate baths. Two very large upstairs rooms have king size beds and boast mountain views of Mauna Kea. Two adjoining single rooms are just off the balcony. Our downstairs rooms are bright and cheery, and offer the relaxing sounds of ocean surf. Breakfast Breakfast is generous and satisfying. It includes our favorite island specialties (the waffles are wonderful) with macadamia nuts, fresh tropical fruits and steaming Kona coffee - the only coffee raised and roasted in the United States. Rates & Guidelines Rates include our delicious breakfast. Single rooms range from $60 - $110 per night. Children must be at least 7. Cash, personal checks, travelers checks and major credit cards are accepted. |
